Heck, Spambots easily defeat such checks, so why make it harder for you.

Just wondering what's up.  I've been playing the Perpetuum closed beta a lot and it's cool... but it's a bit too much of an EVE clone and the lore, and limitations imposed on the game because of the lore, make it uninteresting.

I need me a real battlemech MMO.

On the flip side it did convince me that RPG-like combat with mechs can be bearable and even fun.  Before Perpetuum I would have never accepted a combat model outside of pure twitch for a mech game.

Just jumped into WIP2 and had a look-see.  Seeing the mechs walking around by the dome looked great and brought a smile to my face :-)

Hey Cavadus Smiley

We're still alive and kicking!  I'm going to be talking to Hamilton this evening about hopefully getting another devchat done soon, so we can let everyone know what we're up to.  Don't want people to think we've all disappeared or anything like that!

Yeah, I tried Perpetuum as well, and it just didn't feel like a "true" Mech MMO should.  I know those people who are EVE fans will like the change of pace, but it still felt too much like EVE 2.0 for my blood.

Yeah, the robots/mechs are just... off.  I feel like I'm controlling an RC car, not a giant robot.

Good to hear you guys are still at it.  Since TR closed I just can't seem to find an MMO I really like.

Fallen Earth came close but... it's just so desolate in terms of content.  Spent a couple of months at max level and finally unsubbed due to sheer boredom.

So yeah, eagerly awaiting some news and info on FoA :-)

Sorry to raise a dead thread, and not sure if this is the right place to put this. . .

but, I was just talking to my GF about that, seems that video games have steadily declined since the 90's.

Somebody, somewhere wrote, that once video games became mainstream. . .  now the largest grossing entertainment industry out there, that the trend has been increasingly to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

Mechwarrior 2 and 3, Wing Commander, Tie-Fighter/X-wing. . .  those were my games.
