I typed this up a while back and forgot to post it.   This is also my first post here.   You guys seem to be doing great with this and I look forward to its release.

ZekCom
Specializing in communications and info systems, their vehicles are built with modularization, stealth and electronic warfare in mind.

The cove was initially a site marked by the Taikon mining vessel contracted by the ZekCom corporation to scout for and begin extraction of precious minerals.  Designed to function as a city within a vessel it was adorned with all the necessities to support the crew for quite some time.  Site B3-1 a large crater made by what is presumed to be meteor impact was one of 6 sites selected upon initial scanning.  Once it was declared communications were unavailable and finding a place to settle on the planet was inevitable it was chosen as the place to land.

The ring of hills gives shade through a much larger portion of the day offering a slightly cooler alternative to the mass plains outside as well as sheltering from some of the high winds.  The winds which do make it over them carry a heavy supply of the finer sands depositing them in the crater bedding.  Samples of these sands proved to yield a 34% silica content.  A drilled sample of the deeper layers of the bed yielded mix metals as well many layers of shale, sandstone and clay.  Ultrasound readings of the surrounding mountains proved to hide the same materials.

The ship, containing a small processing facility proved successful in sorting these materials though at a slow rate.  The implementation of ceramics was used to build add on structures to extend the facility.  After one year their yield was small but enough to build a better facility though their supplies were dwindling.  Constant attempts to communicate have failed and recent actions to move the ships communications sytsems to the top of the mountains has proven successful.

With fresh materials such as food and liquids this smalls facility has the potential to become a core mining station capable of producing metals, eletronics, and high yield ceramics.

Colony's 2nd year goal: finish developing the solar panels required to replace the energy needs being supplied by the depleting ships reactor, define terms and conditions for trading with those they have contacted, using what is currently determined to be the four cardinal directions mine tunnels through the mountains in each direction and form tunnel walls using alloy beam reinforced concrete walls and doors.

Colony's 3rd year goal: Begin formation of tunnels from cardinal gates through the center of the mountains towards one another, expand the structural facility to support aggricultural methods and the now expected growth of their colony.

Colony's 5 year goal: Connect all tunnels forming a ring beneath the mountains through which to begin mass refining can be achieved.  Perhaps production of their own mech units.
