Heck, Spambots easily defeat such checks, so why make it harder for you.

Hiya guys, I didn't really see a place to introduce yourself so I figured I'd just jump right in, I've been looking around for a good MMORPG to play since the days of Pre-Cu SWG and I thought of you lot because I remembered a rant one of the devs here posted on MMORPG.   in the vets section, nice to see another Indie MMORPG is alive and kicking, think I'll jump right into my question.

I love the idea of being in a faction war with corporations and the mech combat pretty much only sweetens the deal, hell I already like the sound of the ZekCom ( always been a fan of the stealth/spy network types ) I couldn't care less about graphics if they were polished and cleanly modelled but one thing that does concern me with this sort of thing is how deep and immersive developers are willing to go into this.   Time and time again I come across games that come up with these really awesome ideas, but they just don't go deep enough with them and end up making the stuff either really corny or just plain garbage because of the way they decided to place the camera or do the animations, Battlefield 2 for instance, it's almost like they just but all that stuff in then just slotted a camera in because they couldn't be bothered making it a bit more deeper like having the camera shake slightly from the vibrations in a chopper or when your going over small rocks there could be a thud and the camera would shake from the small collision.

I would really love to see this kind of thing personally I know it may not be a great example but Crysis really did it for me in the whole immersion thing with the nano suit speaking to you whenever you change your ability and cutscenes, I think Crysis and maybe Bioshock as well has to be one of the first FPS' that have ever done cutscenes in a real first person view with you actually interacting with the characters, nearly all the ones I've seen so far have either just stuck you as a camera with a gun at the front of it, I'd also go so far as to say that mecha anime would be a great example of what I'm talking about too, maybe have a voice speaking to you and identifying targets or having to actually physically look at things inside the cockpit to get information rather than just have it lazily splashed out in a HUD that magically follows you everywhere.

Just some few thoughts I wanted to post for the most part, sod graphics, if every game in existence did this for me I would take that over graphics any day sure graphics COMBINED with this would be awesome but there would be nothing quite like getting into a cockpit of a mech and having physically look at what's inside while your walking along and listen to what the A.  I is telling you.

oh and hell the cockpit pitch and roll video is EXACTLY the kind of thing I'm talking about, staticness is horrible for me and doesn't make the thing feel real at all.

This should probably move to wish list...for the moment anyway...that dev was probably me laying a smack down on swg for something or other...I've been known to do it...SWG was one of my first and favorite mmorpg's..and one of the bigger reasons for Wardogs coming together to develop FOA.
