So X, The Lukron Lorescape was posted, not sure if you missed it or not since they would/might possibly tie in largely with your view of the future factions....:)

Power to Lukron!

The lukron shame the motherland! The Facist pig dogs must be crushed!

Viva la Revolution!

....wait that's french

How could I miss it? I used to vist here every day. Then I started checking out SWG emus (galxies Reborn FTW) which are sweet.

Essentailly I'd like to see CIS like the United Republics of the Red Star (good comic FYI!) minus the internal fighting. I just read Red star last week, or rather skimmed through. Again my idea Is extremely similar to that.

The Red Stars leave earth, yadda yadda, war, hot women, corruption. Just no evil wizards.

I have an Idea, the CIS and the Lukron are mortal enemies. the other factions dislike them but they see if the Lukron threat is eliminated they could take on the CIS easier.

Check it out: it's a map!

that's a thumbnail of it. click it for a pigger picture

Residential area: where citizens live. they are all good sized homes and are roomy enough for them.

Business sector: here small resturants, hotels, Samll grocery stores, and the offices workers for the state run industries are here. there is also a factory for weapons, and other goods.

Capital building: this is where the CIS governent runs the show. voting, speeches, and other political things are here as well.

Krasanya arena: Citizens come here to watch races and films. It is often filled with tourists. It is often used for huge partys on holidays such as mayday, new years, Migration (the day the CIS left earth) and revolution day.

the suburbs: the horrible crime filled area. it is filled with drug addicts, criminals, and the Bratva. the giant water mchine here has a part that is malfuntioning causeing there to be contant snow fall.
it's notable features are burned down/dilapidated buildings. there are old ware houses, and factorys with old malfuntioning machinery. sometimes the bratva uses them.
there are constant turf wars here. The bratva is often fighting other gangs, and outlaws from other areas.
The CIS has been trying for years to clean this area up. The war however, makes it a difficult task.

military base: this where the CIS's masive army of tanks , laser artillary, and few mechs are stored. the infantry stay gurd here at ll time. Oddy, there seems to be no area for were ships land. It is belived to be in a secret location to prevent sabbotage.

The political history of the map of Earth has proven to be difficult even with us, for a number of reasons (business, political correctness, cultural intolerances, personal bias to name a few).  I do appreciate your efforts and may be of some use or help for providing another viewpoint.

The current state of Earth is also uncertain at this time, with the possibility of being completely nuked and wasted or of limited nuke exchanges or none at all, providing one of the best retirement places in human controlled space (for those who can afford it).  Earth may or may not provide any source of strategic source of power.

It is possible to recreate Earth at a 1:1 scale, but would take four servers to do so (four zones).  Or only make certain areas of Earth available for use (less than a 1/4th) or of a reduced scale (ie: 1:4).

As of now, what has happened in the past and the current state of Earth has only been provided in general terms.  Maybe in the future when FTL becomes available, a possible quest by players would be to find Earth and then figure out what to do with it.  That would be part of the Reconstruction Phase.

well at first there would have been places where they orgininated no?

I just mde nations that were close by or have a certain cultural influence from somewhere I put tehm together

Lukron and senka were easy. oil rich countries and very russian ethnic areas. Senka was areas with much japanese influence or areas with many japanese. zeckom took some thinking but you said northern europe and england norway and sweden are north.

Genoma killed me. It took at least 15 minutes to figure them out. I use places that had genetic research ongoing, or places where the could be fighting lukron in SE asia. you also mention Praetors so I associated Italy with them. Brazil is such a lush area I figured Genoma would love that stuff.

I'm not syaing it would have existing borders but this is just a general idea (plus it was easier to colour).

but on my idea, I would liek to say that the CIS settlement is now the RSC settlement. Das ostland and the scandinavian confederation are the 2 other great powers within the pact. The RSC is very much leaning twoard the socialist end while the other 2 are more social democracies with more capitalist elements.

The name Das Ostland does not in anyways associatte with east germany.  my basic story with them is a dude in germany led a rebellion against a smaller corpeate. he hated lukron very much and noticed the new RSC. he wanted to create a new order called "Das Ostland" or the east land. everything eurasian/european east of germany would be free from corperate rule and  would be various republics and democracies. his rebellion triumphed and he had a nation without a name. it went on being nameless until they met with the other CIS great powers (before they were the CIS). the dudes wanted teh their anme, but the others didn't like it. so they went with it for their own country.

the scandinaves are awhole other story. some dude who helped form the RSC left after soem sort of dispute and wanted to build a bit leass hardcore of a socialist state. he was norwegian and was able to take down the rest of the coperates in the area.

if anyone woudl like to write theses territories up feel free. just use my basic outlines that's all.

Hep! Time Out!

So you mean to say that CIS is independent from Lukron (which based on the Lorescape, Lukron is somewhat sounds Eastern European)?

Yes, it is somewhat "stereotypical" that the Eastern Europeans (notable Russians) are the "bad guys" and the West (i.e. Americans) are the "good guys". Maybe FOA will change that preception (since it is set in the future, so political tilt is irrelevant).

P.S. It is interesting to read this thread. As long as there are no real-world mentions of white turbaned people, holding placards with written words "Shoot us, you dirty Amerikkans!", or any similar real-world current political events, that would be fine. ;D

The CIS was originally an idea for a group of rebels from lukron who almost took power. I wanted to make a good slavic faction, lukron doesn't seem to be the nicest of people. the original idea was too utopian and made little sense.

I then made an update makeing the CIS seems even biigger. it was sounding too much like the Soviet union making satilite states and etc. so I made the CIS into a kind of UN style faction with 3 major powers like the 5 permanent UN security council members.

so basically you have lukron who is made up of oil producing nations and has some territory in asia. a griup in the russian lands stages a revolt and takes powere in that region. other groups in smaller corperates follow suit and form a pact for other independant factions. their goal was to drive out lukron for its opresive and brutish nature and possibly drive out corperates from europe. they evetually are almost wiped out and driven to RSC land where they leave the planet. some stay behind because they prefer corperate rule, were payed off by corperates or other reasons.

It is 2000 years in the future so any stuff like that would be obsolete in the time frame.
