And that is the tricky part of it all...
To remove the advantage in combat that 3rd person view offers, but yet provide users the ability to take screenshots of their characters. 

Various methods have their pros and cons.  This is just a game, so why not allow for 3rd person view?  But then again, this is suppose to be a Role-playing game.  Yet, some people like to think of their characters as dolls or action figures...

I was thinking that 3rd person could be disabled while the player is flagged "in combat" but that could be abused and used for first strike. Also, once players were able to zoom out for 3rd person, the cries to enable for combat would be immense. Give an inch, take a mile deal.


Or to just enable 3rd person, but prevent camera panning. If a person wants to look behind themselves, they have to physically turn and look.
You could still look around corners, but it could be explained that its just a lazy way of doing the lean around corners.
