Behold the Power of Cheesey Protoculture

was looking through here and did not notice anything along the lines of custom paint jobs. Or even anything about changing paint for Camouflage purposes. I.E. fighting in the darker areas with black paint etc. And what about those truly wild people that want to stand out in battle with a neon lime green Mech. just a thought I had rolling around in my brain.. I like Deft's idea of Cheap Paint jobs. But I'm not really sure about cheap, I been thinking about paint jobs also. What I don't want to see is everyone getting wacky colours and we can't tell which mech is on my team and which mech is on the enemy's team, just because everyone thought it was cool to get a cheap paint job. Perhaps only freelanders (eg. merc and other people) and fraction's (insert rank here) ranking people can get a paint job.
But well that's just my 2 cents on the paint job. Tongue

Custom Paint jobs would mostly work by taking an existing texture file and modifying it.  Most likely we would have to limit this to Guilds only initially, due to how the platform is.  But later on, expand it for all players to have decals and paint schemes.

For starters, you could make a few standard skins, and just let us tweak the colors.

Well, I would like to put together a UI for that, down the road! A Cross platform of the "Mechwarrior Hangar with a number of possible camo patterns with the Accuracy of the Ui used in "Homeworld 2", where you can also change or modify simple areas, like stripes, logo's and other possible ideas like hazzard decals and personalized bumper stickers!

Falcon, I would be interested to see what your ideas are, and would appreciate if you might expand on what your saying! ZYOur definately onto something!

Custom patches would be nice also.  As in MW4 a  100x100 custom file placed in a folder to show up on mech.

(instead of making a new topic)

i would love to see custom paint jobs. (see armored core Smiley )
if custom is not viable at launch, perhaps pre-set (see mech warrior)
currently, the mechs that have been shown, look very bland.
