Heck, Spambots easily defeat such checks, so why make it harder for you.

PLANET SCENARIO

The year is 3242. This is an era of corporate power. Planet K-9WD Gamma is the only habitable planet in this area of the distant frontier. Warring factions sent their vessels to the region to try and stake their claim in the sector. Inexplicably, faster-than-light technology has ceased to function. All ships in the vicinity have been forced to settle upon the harsh planet as a matter of survival. There has been no successful communication with forces outside of the system.

Without faster-than-light travel, the only supplies and vehicles initially available must come from the space fleets. No further supplies can be counted on. Future building materials must be salvaged or pulled from the planet in some manner. The world is virtually unexplored and weather conditions can be extreme. The planet is in dire need of terraforming for prolonged existence. Sustained survival outside of a shelter is impossible for humans. The blowing sands tend to wreak havoc on vehicles as well.

There is likely to be at least one metropolis on the planet by this time, which is the initial landing point for a number of convoys. Your settlement may have landed elsewhere, been a splinter group, etc. Settlements can have up to 40 years to have become established at a maximum. They are to be no larger than a township. If your concept requires things such as unique geologic formations, describe them in detail. The goals and structure of the settlement are your own to decide.

The development team is willing to try and answer questions you may have as you advance your ideas.

Here is a view of the planet from space. You can see K-9WD Gamma's two moons, the polar ice cap in darkness, and the scorched northern pole.

I'll post an image from our concept art that was not really intended to go public, but it should answer your question. The planet does have a rather severe tilt to it's axis, though it is shown as straight up and down in this image. Please note the angle of the axis compared to the sun's location in the image. There are glacial fingers that extend out of the darkness and receive some sunlight as the planet rotates. However, these are quite limited.
