it would be cool if you could add vertical launch missiles someday. The advantage to ordinary missile pods could be better protection from the front but worse on top of course.
It could have longer range but longer time till impact as added cons/pros. it could also be impossible to hit something without a type of guidance system and heat seeking guided missiles couldn't hit ground targets.

What do you think?

Like a grenade launchers Mortar option? If thats the case, would add some indirect fire into the whole equation. At the very least a greater variaty of missles from players to choose from. Definate support.

Of course, your trading range for accuracy, so it would give a much larger edge against huge, slow targets, but be much less effective against light or flea class mechs which are also very fast, If I am understanding the concept correctly.
