A question I have to ask for everyone and that deals with how content should be provided, by both graphics and audio (soundtrack).  Would it be acceptable to have various styles of graphics and music or to stick to one theme?  Or a stylized theme for each faction.

Note that this does not mean going cartoony with one faction and high photo-realistic detail with another.  But rather letting each artist have his/her own style of being shown or heard.  This is a massive world after all.

I am not sure that my take matches one of the supplied responses so I chose other and here is my take.

Each corporation should have a unique "theme", logo, jingle, etc...

Now with that said these standards that identify a specific corporation could be presented in different ways as long as the trademark aspect remained in tact.

Look at Coca Cola over the years.  They have a number of variations on the same theme song used in their advertising for many years.  It's the same jingle but presented in different ways.  One time orchestrated, the next a mariachi band, and a third way on a child's toy xylophone.

Then, after years of using that tune, they decide to move onto another theme song which again they use for many years and in many different manifestations.

The same applies to graphics.  You see the same logo but presented or included in different ways.

This allows for the unique identification of the corporation while allowing for artistic expression.

I have voted for "Various styles for both graphics and music". Various graphic styles will introduce a variety in game and will raise an originality of each faction, and different music themes... Here at all I don't see sense to make comments Smiley. But... it would be desirable to know how many distinctions will be at different styles of a graphic and which features will be on pictures for each of factions.
I doubt that someone will choose "Just one style for both graphics and music", but I understand that various styles of a content demand a lot of time for creation, therefore I consider that at the game initial stage there will be quite enough one design for all.

 I replied other.

Reasoning, stick with the one set for now on both, for alimited time only, but enough to get all the bugs worked out and the production schedule met for release.  the added bells and whistles can come in a new patch a few months down the road.

One clean neat HUD/Interface for the whole game is better then ten or fifteen cluttered or overly glitzy designs.  I like simple, elegant designs best and would not want my faction to dictate the style of my interface.

A few options for styles would be nice regardless of the players faction, and some RGB sliders would be even better.

(Voted for: various styles for both graphics and music)

Dunno if anybody has said this yet, writing in a hurry/tired

But I would imagine multiple styles would be great, I envisioned different unit models etc, or perhaps gui's.  So long as there isn't a sacrifice in quality.  We only have so much "chi" we can put into one thing

Thread necro ftw... ty i missed this poll

Personally i think several graphics choices

for music however, built in MP3 player that can play from players desired owned music Smiley

Every game I have played, no matter how much different, or variaty of music that has been created after playing a game for a week it just feel repetitive.
doesnt matter how good the music is.

but if we could have in game music player so players can choose their own music/music list no one can gripe about lack of music content.

It's not just you.  Wink Usually I end up turning the in-game music off and just listening to mine via WMP.

And I had another Idea for the Dev's (since this subject is up, and I will probibley go into further detail in a suggestion thread), but what about in-game speakers that could play music in the game?  Smiley
