( This thread was made by pretty much by mistake, apoligies all around )
Hmm... I thought i saw somewhere about the PC or the PBC having a recoil... I might go back and read that... In any case, the barrel rotates in any case to keep it slightly cooler and allow a higher rate of fire. I'll just make it to that it spins with supplied energy instead. Also, the power plant is pretty large for it's size, that should help output energy.
I did intentionally preportion the hands about 30% bigger than the rest, though it's to mainly give it a better grip and stuff like that. and this mech / suit / w/e it is isn't ment to be punching anything bigger than itself... at least, design wise. It's only ment to either support a large attacking force by providing some cover-fire, or to take on something around twenty tons or lower (mech wise), or armoured vehicles and infantry.
I agree on the energy-weapon reliance, I made those twin packs on either side of the waist for something... kinda forgot to make them into a weapon... whoops.
I also wanted to mount a one or three-shot heavy LRM pylon over the right shoulder... that would be funny.
And yeah, it's a flea. the person actually stands in there like a power suit, though it's a bit more than a power suit.
A picture would be nice as well.

The PBC's have recoil but other than that i don't think any other energy weapons do. BTW why did you make this
blah
thread? is it to save space on the real Motiuncula thread?
Let's hope we don't anger the dev's by creating too many threads.
i know it's kinda rough and the cannon is way too short, but the general idea should be clear. Here goes.
The dark grey square is the body/head.
The purple roller lifts the entire thing up/down. The red flat thingie is the rails. The rails help take the recoil and slides the cannon down verticaly when it needs to be stowed away so that the barrel doesn't tower too high above the mech.
The blue thing near the end could be a trigger assembly and/or some handolds if you want the arms to help absorb the recoil along with the rails.

GAH! I did totally not mean to do that. I was in a rush to get out the door, and was trying to close my stuff down before I left. diddn't really get the chance to check it posted right before I rushed out the door.
/
Though while It's there, I guess we could use this thread for things like this.
( On a side note, If it's possible for the dev's, could you merge this into the Monticula thread? )
( Bribe roll! *rolls for a 9* cookies. *Sets out a plate of chocolate-chip cookiesto appease devs* )
Anyways, contuning on from what I ment.
Yeah, I was thinking almost the exact same thing for the potential LRM or other large-scale weapon for the mech, but I might implement that in for the two gun systems. Thanks for the pictures though, helps clarify a lot. now to the models !!!

it sort of reminds me of the air-cooled and recoil firing mechanism of the MG-42 during WW2 in a way except this appears to have some major recoil action for that large of a platform but pretty much the same concept only major difference i can pick out is that the mg42 has 1200 rpm firing and this seems much slower so the barrel doesn't get as hot as quick and need replacement.
whereas the mg42 could probably do about 10 seconds of firing before needing to flop out the barrel and slap in a new one again.

Oh yeah, those guns. Me be thinking about the 'Devils Paintbrush" now. Forgot exactly which gun it is, but It's air-cooled like that. Allied troops were trained to take heavy cover, and only to preform any action during the 7-ish second barrel change when they needed to.
In any case, if Modern standards mean 6K RPM can be reached by a Gattling-system (which would definately help cool the barrels), I wouldn't say 10k would be hard to reach.
Also, Had an idea today for the devs, might post if I get a brief chance later. BACK TO THE GRIND!

i did make it after being inspired by the MG-3 which is the gun they made after WW2 based on the MG-42.
But we weren't talking about the gun actually. it was more about how to mount a big gun on the Motiuncula mech Zulls made without it getting in the way of the hands.

Necro thread Muhahaha... well not really, it's been slowing down around here.
After returning to some of my models, I have toyed with the current minigun design, and utilised 3 of the barrels as miniature cooling stations for each barrel. In theroy, cooler systems mean higher rates of fire, right?
I am waaaay to tired and stuff to post a picture, I will hopefully get around to it tommorow. I also started working on another mech, plan on expecting Lucron as pretty much everything else I have designed thus far fits into no other category. Well, Lucron as in heavy fire-power, I still haven't picked which company I want to align myself with... Merc. *cough*
Now then, To pick speed back up on processing my little Flea, Any suggestions with Placement of Chaff launchers and smoke screens? And I was planning on re-working the Elbow joint, trying to think of a good joint that would allow an arm in the middle of it...

Placement of smoke screen and flare launcher you say? How about these spots?- top of backpack, left side of backpack, just above the ankles or on the hips.
if you made the waist thinner you could mount them there as well.
As for the elbow joint i have no idea. You could use the same system they use in Appleseed...kinda hard to describe with text so just search for
Appleseed landmate
pics.
By the way the back of the elbow on the Motiuncula looks really flat. Maybe you should add something there and indent some of the upper arm close to the elbow joint so that it can straighten out normally.

Finaly here. And hopefully a satasfactory method to preserve a six-barreled appearence as well as add a cooling mechanisim.
I think It's obvious which ones are the actual barrels and witch are the cooling ones. Hurrah for the use of liquid nitrogen.
Now I need to start working on that elbow joint and placing the Chaff/flares, as well as adapting the rail system a bit to make it more... stable I guess would be the correct word.

That does look cool indeed
When you zoom out the differences between the coolertanks and the barrels become smaller.
Perhaps making the coolers shorter or adding some other unique details would make them stand out more.

True, Diddn't really consider that. I might make the tanks a bit longer... hopefully not too long though, just enough to emphasise they are different.
I also have another simple problem, but again, imput is nice.
Since the pilot wears this piece of armour, there are small gaps between some of the parts (like at the waist, neck, and such). Debating between some kind of heavy interlocking metal loops or some kind of heavy flexible material that more resembles fabric than metal.
