| Corporations | Various super corporations have taken over the role national governments used to have in the past. They now control vast expanses of space and compete for power and influence across the galaxy. Most Corporations have developed unique philosophies and methods of achieving dominance. |
| Cyborg | Essentially machines that are controlled by a sentient brain, but with bodies made of inorganic mechanical parts. Corporations usually field these units as Heavy or Assault Infantry. |

| Independents | The Independents are the last remnants of humans who still believe in the traditional forms of government and have not accepted the rule of the mega-Corporations. The Independents have no recognized territory to claim as their own. They are seen as rift-rafts and outcasts of the human society. The Independents survive either by raiding, pirating corporate assets or roaming around at the periphery of human space to avoid conflict. |
