Senka Mechanized Armor
BACKFANG Faction: Senka CBR: Classified, Est 70 tons Mission: Main Battle Mech
Intel: The Backfang is one of the oldest Mechanized Armor being fielded by Senka during the K-9WD campaign. The Backfang was conceived as a stop-gap measure during the Tri-Corp War to counter the Lukron Mid-Fielder. To provide for a quick mass-production of the Backfang, the Venom design was considered. The Backfang was to be essentially a heavier version of the Venom, designed for main line fighting. The Backfang's main gun system ranges from a 120mm to a 180mm auto-cannon depending on the variant, along with two 88mm chain cannons and two medium range missile racks. A modernization program is in the works to upgrade the existing Backfangs to utilize newer technology, such as Rail Cannons.
KNIGHT Faction: Senka CBR: Classified, Est 60 tons Mission: Main Battle Mech
Intel: The Knight is one of those Mechs that do not exactly fit in with the conventional thought of Senkan designs. It has curves and is fairly close to looking like a tall human in armor. The Knight is a fairly new design, and one that was badly needed. The reason for the need of this design, is that most Senkan Mechs lack hands, which has proved to be troublesome during close-combat conditions and salvage operations. Although designed as a Main Battle Mech, the Knight is multi-mission capable, by providing the capability to be equipped with numerous types of external systems and hand weapons.
MAMBA Faction: Senka CBR: Classified, Est 80 tons Mission: Air Defense Mech Intel: The Mambas on K-9WD were never meant to be assigned to this planet as K-9WD's environment does not support the use of aircraft very well. The original Mambas were part of the 48th Air Defense Battalion en route to a border planet. As with the other stories, the lost FTL forced the 48th Air Defense Battalion to take up residence here. While the need for Air Defense is low, the need for Mambas is not. Mambas help to ward off dropships and fast moving ground units.
MASTIFF Faction: Senka CBR: Classified Mission: Mobile Fortress
Intel: The Mastiff is Senka's answer to the ongoing Super Heavy Mech race. When Super Heavies were going past the 300 ton range, the Senka Corporation decided to make a drastic long leap ahead. No one at this time has any solid idea of the actual tonnage of Mastiffs. Some say 500 tons, while others insist it is closer to 1,500 tons. Senka has even gone to the trouble of cleaning up the footprints of Mastiffs to ensure that the tonnage is kept secret as long as possible. The first Mastiff was made from the salvaged of a crashed warship, and the same for most others, although production is helping out in reducing the need of finding suitable downed warships. Most Mastiffs are unique from each other, but they all sport the 400mm cannon and four 300mm to 350mm cannons. Mastiff are slow movers (about 20kph to 30kph) and therefore act as mobile fortresses, earning the nickname of Land Battleships.
PIT VIPER Faction: Senka CBR: Classified, Est 40 tons Mission: Versatile Mech
Intel: The Pit Viper is Senka's call to the Genoma transformable Phantom. Once again, to quickly close the gap, the engineers took to the designs that worked, and that was the Venom. The Pit Viper is a native K-9WD design and it looks it. Lacking nearly any thought or consideration of aerodynamics, since the planet has thin atmospheric conditions. Pit Vipers were not designed for speed or for use of aerial combat, but rather for very mobile ground operations and provide air cover when needed. With the use of transformable technology, Pit Vipers are very agile and their weapons have greater firing arcs.
TIAPAN Faction: Senka CBR: Classified, Est 100 tons Mission: Heavy Battle Mech
Intel: Certain people of the Senkan Leadership had become vehemently opposed to the Knight project, citing that it represented a departure of Senka Traditions and would be too confusion with other opposing corporations, such as ZekCom. These executives decided to provide another humanoid Mech bid with the desire to put to shame the Knight in mind. This lead to the Tiapan, a humanoid Mech designed along Traditional Senka Lines. Cost overruns aside, the Tiapan has emerged as a fearsome Mech. In the zeal of those executives, a large caliber twin rail cannon system was designed specifically, proving that the Tiapan was the best humanoid Mech.
VENOM Faction: Senka CBR: 35 tons Mission: Fast Strike Mech
Intel: Produced by Hammur Industries, the Venom is one of the oldest light framed Mechs still operating in the field. Originally classified as a Light Battle Mech (LBM), the Venom was re-designated as a Fast Strike Mech (FSM) after being eclipsed by higher tech Mechs. Like most fighting Mechs of its time, the Venom would store most of its hard-hitting weapons on external mounts. Although an obsolete design, the Venom would still enjoy a long successful career during the K-9WD campaign. The Affliction had caused a decline of technology, which allowed the Venom to become near equal to the level of technology on the battlefield. It was during this time that as a First Strike platform that the Venom excelled. (more)
Senka Arena Mechs
JACKEL Faction: Senka CBR: Classified Mission: Arena Mech
Intel: The Jackel is the icon of Arena Mech designs, giant monster looking machines. The Jackel was a popular Senkan Arena Mech design, providing a look of a cyber wolf or jackal. The original Jackels on K-9WD were or higher technology that had been lost and only three are known to operate at near original performance. Those three are rarely used for arena bouts, but when they are, they always draw in the crowds. The other Jackels are either salvaged using currently technology or home grown; and even using current technology, those Jackles are just as nasty.
REAVER Faction: Senka CBR: Classified Mission: Arena Mech
Intel: The Reaver is a unique design, in which only one is known to have been produced. Actually, sources believe that the Reaver was never created by a corporation of Senka, but rather by some rogue corporate. Even the pilot of the machine is unknown, which is unheard of with Arena Pilots. The media has simply given the pilot the unoriginal handle of Reaver, of which does fit with how this pilot fights.
