Forty years we’ve wasted. Fighting with each other, dying with each other. They tell us that it’s all for Genesis, if we just hold out for the cure to the Affliction, it’ll all be over...

Senka Body Armor

The Senka Corporation understand very well that every individual Sekan is a representative of its corporate power and influence. The symbol of Senkan might is projected onto others by every single trooper. Therefore the Senka Corporation takes great efforts in providing an effective image, while maintaining functionality of its issued equipment. Body Armor is considered the most eye-catching piece of gear of any trooper and thus gets the most attention to detail.

Tradition is one of the top principles of the Senkan culture. Senkan Body Armor is designed with tradition in mind, not only in visual purposes, but also in engineering. Body Armor was once an art in terms of visualization and functionality; however, once industrial mass-production was possible, the art of engineering Body Armor went to the wayside. The Senka Corporation long ago decided to restore the art of Body Armor even while armor is still mass-produced. Armorers are provided incentives to be creative with designing Body Armor, to find the right balance of traditional visual appeal and functionality. Often the Senkan authority will allow and encourage small businesses to develop their own set of armor to be sold. Sometimes and most often, it is a small business that wins the contract to develop and produce the next set of standardized Body Armor for the Senkan forces.

To help encourage small businesses and provide competition, the Senka allows for its forces to wear different sets of armor, preferring to not have one standard armor for all forces. Mechanized Armor personnel are given a perk to be allowed to wear whatever set of armor they like, even allowing to use mixed sets of armor. This of course is an envy and pet-peeve of the other branches. Some branches have managed to be given such special treatment, such as the pilots for gunships; but Senka considers its Mech Pilots as the knights and samurai of old.

Senkan Body Armor is normally comprised of interlinked metal alloy plates for critical and most likely to be hit areas, with plastic composites protecting the rest. The armor also contains electronic systems to provide additional sensory and medical capabilities. The energy source for these systems are rechargeable batteries, which are recharged from the motion (kinetics) and body heat of the wearer. This also aids in providing a very little amount of additional heat signature, of which only advanced sensors have the possible capability of detecting.

Senkan Helmet Variants

Senka allows for its employees to wear Senkan approved body armor freely as a show of its influence and culture. Employees may wear the armor in any manner as so long as it does not appear insulting to Senka. Whereas Senkan troops are required to always wear their full suit of armor while on duty. Non-Senkan employees, however are not allowed to wear body armor of any kind, and especially not of Senka armor.
